I’m Reem-
UX Researcher &
Data Scientist

I am a user experience researcher and data scientist. I leverage a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches in my research. My doctoral research focused on the motives, perceptions, use, and impacts of social media platforms such as Facebook.

From my scientific research, I learned that it is possible for social media to have positive impacts on individuals’ wellbeing. So, now I help companies research and design electronic social networks that will have a positive impact on users and society.

I hold a doctorate in Business Technology Management, a master’s degree in Management Information Systems and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a major in Management Information Systems from the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University.

Another thing to know about me is that lately I am fascinated with causality and causal inference.

“The data-fitting school is driven by the faith that the secret to rational decisions lies in the data itself, if only we are sufficiently clever at data mining. In contrast, the data-interpreting school views data, not as a sole object of inquiry but as an auxiliary means for interpreting reality, and “reality” stands for the processes that generate the data.” Judea Pearl
